नवदुर्गा- पाँचवी स्कंदमाता

नवरात्रि का पाँचवाँ दिन दुर्गा देवी “स्कंदमाता” की उपासना का दिन होता है। मोक्ष के द्वार खोलने वाली यह माता परम सुखदायी हैं। देवी माँ अपने भक्तों की समस्त इच्छाओं की पूर्ति करती हैं। इस देवी की चार भुजाएँ सुशोभित हैं। वह दायीं तरफ की ऊपर वाली भुजा से स्कन्द को गोद में पकड़े हुए हैं। तथा नीचे वाली भुजा में कमल का पुष्प है। एवं बायीं तरफ ऊपर वाली भुजा वरदमुद्रा में हैं और नीचे वाली भुजा में कमल पुष्प सुशोभित है।

सदैव पहाड़ों पर रहकर सांसारिक जीवों में नवचेतना का निर्माण करने वालीं इस स्कन्दमाता की नवरात्रि में पाँचवें दिन पूजा-अर्चना की जाती है। कहते हैं कि इनकी कृपा हो तब मूढ़ भी ज्ञानी हो जाता है। स्कन्द कुमार अर्थात कार्तिकेय की माता के कारण इन्हें स्कन्दमाता नाम से अभिहित किया गया है। इनके विग्रह में भगवान स्कन्द बालरूप में इनकी गोद में विराजित रहते हैं।

इनका वर्ण एकदम शुभ्र है। यह सदैव कमल के आसन पर विराजमान रहती हैं। इसीलिए इन्हें पद्मासना भी कहा जाता है। अन्य देवी स्वरूप के जैसा ही इनका वाहन सिंह है।

पुराणों एवं शास्त्रों में इसका पुष्कल महत्व बताया गया है। इनकी उपासना से भक्त की संपूर्ण इच्छाएँ पूरी हो जाती हैं और भक्त को मोक्ष मिलता है। सूर्यमण्डल की अधिष्ठात्री देवी होने के कारण इनका उपासक अलौकिक तेज से उक्त और कान्तिमय हो जाता है। अतः सदैव मन को एकाग्र रखकर और तन से पवित्र रखकर इस देवी की आराधना करने वाले साधक या भक्त को भवसागर पार करने में तनिक भी कठिनाई नहीं आती है।

उनकी पूजा से साधक को मोक्ष का मार्ग सुलभ होता है। यह देवी विद्वानों और सेवकों को पैदा करने वाली शक्ति और यानी चेतना का निर्माण करने वालीं है। कहते हैं की कालिदास द्वारा रचित रघुवंशम महाकाव्य और मेघदूत रचनाएँ स्कन्दमाता की कृपा से ही संभव हुईं है।

मन्त्र:

सिंहासनगता नित्यं पद्माश्रितकरद्वया।
शुभदाऽस्तु सदा देवी स्कन्दमाता यशस्विनी॥

माता स्कंदमाता जी की आरती

कहानी:

पौराणिक कथाओ के अनुसार तारकासुर नामक एक राक्षस था। जिसकी मृत्यु केवल शिव पुत्र से ही संभव थी। तब मां पार्वती ने अपने पुत्र भगवान स्कन्द अर्थात कार्तिकेय को युद्ध के लिए प्रशिक्षित करने हेतु स्कन्द माता का स्वरूप लिया और तब उन्होंने भगवान स्कन्द को युद्ध के लिए प्रशिक्षित किया था। स्कंदमाता से युद्ध प्रशिक्षिण लेने के पश्चात् ही भगवान स्कन्द ने तारकासुर का वध किया।

पुराणों मे कार्तिकेय को देवताओं का कुमार सेनापति भी कहा जाता है। कार्तिकेय को पुराणों में सनत-कुमार, स्कन्द कुमार आदि नामों से भी जाता है। माता अपने इस रूप में शेर पर सवार होकर अत्याचारी दानवों और राक्षसों का संहार करती हैं।

पर्वतराज की बेटी होने के कारण ही इन्हें पार्वती भी कहते हैं और भगवान शिव की अर्धांगिनी होने के कारण इनका एक नाम माहेश्वरी भी है। इनके गौर वर्ण के कारण इन्हें गौरी भी कहा जाता है। मां को अपने पुत्र स्कन्द से अत्याधिक प्रेम है इसलिए इन्हें स्कंदमाता भी कहा जाता है। मां कमल के पुष्प पर विराजित अभय मुद्रा में होती हैं इसलिए इन्‍हें पद्मासना देवी और विद्यावाहिनी दुर्गा भी कहा जाता है।

Navadurga- Fifth Skandmata

The fifth day of Navratri is the day of worship of Goddess Durga “Skandmata”. This mother, who opens the doors of salvation, is the best giver of happiness. Mother Goddess fulfills all the wishes of her devotees. The four arms of this goddess are adorned. He is holding Skanda in his lap with the upper right arm. And in the lower arm there is a lotus flower. And on the left, the upper arm is in Varadamudra and the lower arm is adorned with a lotus flower.

This Skandmata, who always lives on the mountains, creates new consciousness in the worldly creatures, is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri. It is said that if you have their grace, then even a fool becomes wise. She is named as Skandamata because of Skanda Kumar i.e. mother of Kartikeya. In his deity, Lord Skanda resides in his lap in the form of a child.

His character is pure. She always sits on the lotus seat. That is why it is also called Padmasana. Like other goddess forms, his vehicle is a lion.

Its Pushkal importance has been told in the Puranas and scriptures. By worshiping her, all the wishes of the devotee are fulfilled and the devotee gets salvation. Being the presiding deity of the solar system, her worshiper becomes above and radiant with supernatural brilliance. Therefore, the seeker or devotee who always worships this goddess by keeping the mind concentrated and pure from the body does not face any difficulty in crossing the ocean of the universe.

By worshiping her, the path of salvation is accessible to the seeker. This goddess is the power to create scholars and servants and that is to create consciousness. It is said that the Raghuvansham epic and Meghdoot compositions composed by Kalidasa became possible only by the grace of Skandmata.

Mantra:

Sihasonegata Nityam Padmashritkaradvaya.
Subhdaasatu sada devi Skandmata Yashaswini.

Story:

According to mythology, there was a demon named Tarakasur. Whose death was possible only from the son of Shiva. Then Mother Parvati took the form of mother Skanda to train her son Lord Skanda i.e. Kartikeya for war and then she trained Lord Skanda for war. Lord Skanda killed Tarakasur only after taking war training from Skandmata.

In the Puranas, Kartikeya is also called the Kumar commander of the gods. Kartikeya is also known in the Puranas by the names Sanat-Kumar, Skanda Kumar etc. In this form, the mother rides on a lion and kills the tyrannical demons and demons.

She is also called Parvati due to being the daughter of Parvatraj and she is also known as Maheshwari due to being the consort of Lord Shiva. She is also called Gauri because of her fair complexion. Mother has great love for her son Skanda, hence she is also called Skandmata. Mother is in abhaya posture, seated on a lotus flower, hence she is also called Padmasana Devi and Vidyavahini Durga.
