दीपावली पर्व की कथा

मित्रों! सनातन धर्म जो है वो सत्य, संस्कार, शास्त्रों और पौराणिक कथाओं का एक भण्डार है। आप जितना ही इसे समझने का प्रयास करेंगे उतना ही सत्य आपके समक्ष आता ही रहेगा। चलिए हम आज के सत्य और पौराणिक कथा पर आते है।

यह कहानी है लगभग 20-22 बर्ष पहले की, तब भी दीपावली पर्व का ही समय चल रहा था। और इन्द्र देव हमारे गृह क्षेत्र से अत्यन्त ही प्रसन्न थे। गाजे बाजे के साथ डेट हुए थे। हर तरफ जल ही जल था। बादलो के द्वारा भी खुब पटाखे फोड़े जा रहे थे। मै बहुत छोटा था और अपने दादा जी के पास सोता हुआ या कहे दबका हुआ पटाखों का आनंद ले रहा था। या यूँ कहे की मेरे ही पटाखे फुट रहे थे।

तभी बड़े ही साहस के साथ मैने अपनी दादी से पूछा, दादी यह क्या हो रहा है। तभी मेरी दादी हस्ते हुए वोली, क्यो डर लग रहा है। मैने कहा नही तो केवल जानकारी ले रहा हूँ। तब दादी ने कहा कल दीपावली का पर्व है। इस लिए भगवान प्रसन्नतापूर्वक आज ही उत्सव मना रहे है। वैसे उस समय दादी कहती भी तो क्या। तब मैने दादा जी से प्रश्न किया, दादा जी दीपावली की कोई कथा सुनाए..?

दीपावली कथा इस प्रकार है:

तब दादा जी ने जो कथा सुनाई वह इस प्रकार है! एक नगर मे एक साहूकार रहता था उसकी एक बेटी थी। वह प्रतिदिन पीपल को जल चढ़ाने जाया करती थी, उस पीपल में लक्ष्मी जी का वास था। वह बड़े ही निस्वार्थ भाव से जल चढाती और चली जाती थी। लक्ष्मी जी प्रतिदिन उसे ऐसा करते हुए देखती और अत्यंत ही प्रसन्न होती। परन्तु एक दिन लक्ष्मी जी ने साहूकार की बेटी से कहा कि तु मेरी सहेली बन जा, तब साहूकार की बेटी ने कहा कि मैं पहले अपने पिता जी से पूछ कर आऊगी, तब कल आपकी सहेली बन जाउगी।

तब घर जाकर उसने सारी कहानी अपने पिता को बताई, तब उसके पिताजी ने कहा कि वह तो लक्ष्मी जी हैं उनके अलावा हमे और क्या चाहिए तू शीघ्र ही उनकी सहेली बन जा। दुसरे दिन साहूकार की बेटी पीपल को जल चढ़ाने गई और लक्ष्मी जी की सहेली बन गई। एक दिन लक्ष्मी जी ने साहूकार की बेटी को भोजन करने का न्यौता दिया।

जब साहूकार की बेटी लक्ष्मी जी के यहाँ भोजन करने गई तो लक्ष्मी जी ने उसको ओढने के लिए शाल दुशाला दिया, सोने की चौकी पर बिठाकर, सोने की ही थाली में अनेक प्रकार के भोजन कराए। जब साहूकार की बेटी खा पीकर अपने घर लौटने लगी तब लक्ष्मी जी ने उसका हाथ पकड़ लिया और कहा- मुझे अपने घर पर नही बुलाएगी मै भी तेरे घर भोजन करने आउगी।

तब उसने कहा अच्छा ठीक है आ जाना। परन्तु घर आकर वह रूठकर बैठ गई। तब साहूकार ने पूछा क्या हुआ। तब उसने संपूर्ण कथा सुनाई। फिर साहूकार ने कहा कि लक्ष्मी जी तो भोजन करने आएगी और तू उदास बैठी हैं। तब साहूकार की बेटी ने कहा- पिताजी, लक्ष्मी जी ने मुझे इतना कुछ दिया और बहुत ही सुंदर भोजन कराया, मैं उन्हें किस प्रकार भोजन खिलाउगी, हमारे घर में तो कुछ भी नही हैं।

तब साहूकार ने बेटी से कहा, निराश मत हो जो हमसे से हो पाएगा खातिर कर देगे। परन्तु तू पहले गोबर मिटटी से चौका देकर चारो ओर सफाई कर दे। चौमुखा दीपक बना दे और लक्ष्मी जी का नाम लेकर बैठ जा। उसी समय कही से एक चील किसी रानी का हार उठा लाइ और साहूकार की बेटी के पास गिरा कर चली गयी।

तभी उसने देखा और ले जाकर सभी ग्राम बासी यो से पूछा यह किसका है। सभी ने मना कर दिया। अन्त मे साहूकार की बेटी ने उस हार से सोने की चौकी, सोने का थाल, शाल दुशाला और अनेक प्रकार के भोजन की तैयारी करने लगी। तभी गणेश जी और लक्ष्मी जी साहूकार की बेटी के यहाँ भोजन करने आ गये। साहूकार की बेटी ने लक्ष्मी और गणेश जी से बड़े ही स्नेहवश सोने की चौकी पर बैठने को कहा।

परन्तु लक्ष्मी जी ने वहा बैठने को बहुत मना किया और कहा कि इस पर तो स्वयं राजा रानी बैठते हैं। परन्तु साहूकार की बेटी हठ पर अड गई। तब माता लक्ष्मी और गणेश जी उस सोने की चौकी पर विराजमान हो गये। तब साहूकार की बेटी ने लक्ष्मी और गणेश जी की बहुत खातिर-दारी की, दोनो की थाल सजा कर आरती की ,फल फूल चलाये, और खाने को स्वादिष्ट व्यंजन परोसा। माता लक्ष्मी और गणेश जी ने बड़े ही प्रेम से भोजन किया। इससे लक्ष्मी जी बहुत प्रसन्न हुई और साहूकार के घर को बहुत धन दौलत से भर दिया।

हे लक्ष्मी माता जैसे तुम साहूकार की बेटी की चौकी पर बैठी और उन्हें धन दिया वैसे ही धन सबको देना।

Then I asked Dada ji, Dada ji should tell any story of Deepawali..?

The story of Diwali is as follows:

The story that Grandfather told then is as follows! There lived a moneylender in a town and he had a daughter. She used to go daily to offer water to Peepal, Lakshmi ji resided in that Peepal. She used to offer water very selflessly and went away. Lakshmi ji would see him doing this every day and would be very happy. But one day Lakshmi ji told the moneylender’s daughter that you become my friend, then the moneylender’s daughter said that I will come first after asking my father, then tomorrow I will become your friend.

Then after going home, he told the whole story to his father, then his father said that she is Lakshmi ji, what else do we want apart from her, you should become his friend soon. The next day the moneylender’s daughter went to offer water to Peepal and became a friend of Lakshmi. One day Lakshmi ji invited the moneylender’s daughter to have food.

When the moneylender’s daughter went to eat food at Lakshmi ji’s place, Lakshmi ji gave her a shawl to cover her, made her sit on a gold post, made many types of food on a gold plate. When the moneylender’s daughter started returning to her house after eating and drinking, Lakshmi ji held her hand and said – I will not invite me to my house, I will also come to your house for food.

Then he said ok ok come. But after coming home she got upset and sat down. Then the moneylender asked what happened. Then he told the whole story. Then the moneylender said that Lakshmi ji will come to have food and you are sitting sad. Then the moneylender’s daughter said – Father, Lakshmi ji gave me so much and made me a very beautiful food, how will I feed them, there is nothing in our house.

Then the moneylender said to the daughter, do not be discouraged, we will do it for the sake of what can be done from us. But you should first clean the surroundings by giving them a dung with soil. Make a four-faced lamp and sit with the name of Lakshmi ji. At the same time, an eagle from somewhere picked up a queen’s necklace and dropped it near the moneylender’s daughter and went away.

Then he saw it and took it and asked all the village stale people, whose is it. Everyone refused. In the end, the moneylender’s daughter started preparing a gold post, a gold plate, a shawl, and many types of food from that necklace. Then Ganesh ji and Lakshmi ji came to the moneylender’s daughter to have food. The moneylender’s daughter asked Lakshmi and Ganesh ji to sit on the gold post with great affection.

But Lakshmi ji strongly refused to sit there and said that the king and queen herself sit on this. But the moneylender’s daughter was adamant. Then Mata Lakshmi and Ganesh ji sat on that gold post. Then the moneylender’s daughter took care of Lakshmi and Ganesh ji a lot, decorated the plates of both of them, performed aarti, played fruits and flowers, and served delicious dishes to the food. Mata Lakshmi and Ganesh ji ate food with great love. This pleased Lakshmi ji very much and filled the moneylender’s house with a lot of wealth.

O Lakshmi Mata, just like you sat on the moneylender’s daughter’s post and gave her money, in the same way give money to everyone.
